TU Delft spin-off Windchallenge launches noiseless, affordable ‘plug-and-play’ wind turbine

After four years of research and testing, the small wind turbine designed by TU Delft spin-off Windchallenge is ready for its market launch. The Windchallenge 1.7 can now be ordered and delivered. Interested parties can see the turbine in action from 15 May onwards. An example of this lightweight, quiet and affordable turbine will be present on the roof of incubator company Yes!Delft in Delft.

Driving with a fuel consumption of 5 grammes of hydrogen per 100 km

Registration for free online courses at TU Delft is open

It is now possible to register for the first free Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) at TU Delft. The courses being offered are Solar Energy and Introduction to Water Treatment, both of which start on 16 September. These courses provide free online access to the knowledge of TU Delft for anyone, anywhere in the world. Anyone may attend the courses, without prior education or entrance tests.

TU Delft helps to advance important microscopic technique for biomedical research

Scientists at TU Delft have made an important advancement in a new microscopic technique that is widely used in medical research. They demonstrate what the resolution of this localisation microscopy is and how the best resolution can be achieved as quickly as possible. TU Delft researchers lay solid foundation for a ‘quantum internet’

Researchers at TU Delft have managed to bring two electrons, three metres from each other, into a quantum- entangled state. This result marks a major step towards realizing a quantum network that can be used to connect future quantum computers and to send information in a completely secure way by means of ‘teleportation’. Strong regional sea-level rise during the onset of Antarctic glaciation

An international team of scientists discovered a surprisingly strong regional sea-level rise which occurred during the onset of Antarctic glaciation about 34 million years ago, while the global sea-level on average lowered. In an article, published today in Nature Geoscience, scientists of the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ), Utrecht University and TU Delft explain why.
