Organisation

The Department of Biotechnology consists of nine research groups which are the basic research units in a variety of (collaborative) programmes at the local and (inter)national level.
Research and education is performed by 25 permanent scientific staff members, 12 laboratory technicians and 85 temporary researchers (PhD's, postdocs, etc). Important facilities include an advanced fermentation centre, genomics facilities, and a mechanical workshop.
