Research interest:
The aim of my work is to investigate organic bilayer structures for photovoltaic applications. Organic molecular materials are promising for cheap solar cells due to their strong optical absorption in the visible and NIR.
At the interface between an electron acceptor and an electron donor able to efficiently absorb light in a wide spectral region, charge generation can be observed. In order to study the phenomena governing exciton dynamics and charge carrier photogeneration efficiency I perform contactless Time Resolved Microwave Conductivity (TRMC) measurements, together with the use of other optical techniques.
Stichting voor Fundamenteel Onderzoek der Materie (FOM) funds this project.
