TU Delft represented at World Congress on Particle Technology and POWTECH 2010
08 June 2010 by M&C TNW/ChemEA record number of visitors, in the region of 16,500, were given the opportunity to indulge their technical and scientific flair in Nuremberg, Germany, between 26 and 29 April. Having POWTECH, the largest European trade fair for the production, treatment and characterisation of powders, run simultaneously with the World Congress on Particle Technology (WCPT), a scientific congress dealing with similar topics, made for an exciting and inspiring few days. TU Delft was represented at both events.
Delft Solids Solutions
During the POWTECH trade fair, a great deal of national and international interest was shown for Delft Solids Solutions - a spin-off of the ChemE department that focuses on physical research and the characterisation of solids. Their unrivalled expertise and specialised field appealed to a great many of the visitors.
Chairman
Dr Gabrie Meesters, part-time assistant professor for the research group NanoStructured Materials from the ChemE Department (AS), acted as chairman for the WCPT congress. One of his duties was to welcome a variety of speakers and visitors from the same research group.
Future editions
The various parties look back with pride on what was a hugely successful congress and plans are already afoot for future editions. The next edition of the POWTECH will be held in Nuremberg in October 2011 and a WCPT is being organised for May 2014 in Beijing, China.
