Frits Klaver (R3/FAME) wins Young Wild Idea award
05 March 2010 by M&C Applied Sciences / R3On Friday the 5th of March, Frits Klaver (R3/FAME) received the Young Wild Idea award, organized by the Delft Center for Materials. During the award ceremony, Klaver gave a short presentation of his project ‘Efficient Li-ion batteries’.
Sustainable
Lithium ion batteries are important for a sustainable world. To improve capacity and rate performance of Li-ion batteries Klaver will try to use electric conducting polymers to bind electrode particles and use the same binder as the conducting agent. If this works, batteries can be made lighter and can contain more energy, ideal for instance in your mobile telephone or if you haven''t got one yet, electric vehicle. The project is financed by a Young Wild Ideas award (DCMat).
