TU Delft
Yoka Boshoff worked as a communication expert at TU Delft from 1975 to 2002. Ensuring that scientific processes are visible in a social context is one of the university’s key duties. By organising international trade fairs and technology days, Yoka played a pioneering role in bringing together the world of technical sciences and industry. The fruits of her labour are still visible today and form the basis of the current state of affairs.
Museum Shop
Since 2006, Yoka Boshoff has been coordinator for the Botanical Gardens’ Museum Shop at TU Delft. She was the driving force behind the Museum Shop, which began with 35 voluntary members of staff of various different nationalities and also from the Centre for Work and Income, CWI. The Museum Shop is filled with articles sourced from around the world by Yoka. Inspired by her impassioned leadership, the 35 enthusiastic volunteers invested a great deal of time and energy into making the Botanical Garden a success. Workshops are organised for the staff twice a year and the profits from the Museum Shop are invested in educational programmes for school children.
Floating Parade
During the years between 1999 and 2009, Yoka took the personal initiative to invite one hundred guests from different residential and nursing homes to enjoy the spectacular Westland Floating Parade, which was held in front of her house on the Oostsingel in Delft.
Care farm ‘Buitengewoon’
Yoka has been very active in raising sponsor money for the ‘Buitengewoon’ care farms. These care farms in Delfgauw and Pijnacker run a day care centre for people with early dementia. A successful project, where geriatric patients are cared for and can function to the best of their abilities in a natural environment.
Soroptimists InternationalDelft
Yoka was also vice president of the Soroptimists International Delft for two years and president for a further two. During this period, she was driven and enthusiastic in her personal effort to recruit new young members to the organisation and under her stewardship a number of international projects were successfully launched, implemented and completed.
Gifts
In addition to her position as coordinator of the Museum Shop, Yoka is also a board member of the Theater de Veste in Delft. Did you know that the Museum Shop also sells great gifts? An original souvenir for a departing colleague or perhaps a birthday present. Choose from a bottle of wine, a book on nature or stunning jewellery. It is also possible to take your lunch in the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Come and visit one of the regular exhibitions on display or take a tranquil stroll through the gardens. Why not drop by and enjoy the scenery.
