Proton therapy for treating cancer more accurate thanks to Delft research
15 December 2011 by M&C Applied SciencesScientists at TU Delft have realised a potentially significant improvement in proton therapy, a relatively new and promising treatment for cancer. They devised and tested a measuring method which allows the protons to be pointed very accurately at the right place, the tumour, during treatment. The researchers are publishing their findings this week on the online edition of the journal Physics in Medicine and Biology.
