Together with TU Delft, Royal Dutch Shell is to organize the 2005 Shell Bachelor Master Award. This is an award for bachelor and master students whose thesis is concerned with sustainable development and energy.

Do you want to win 1.000 or 2.500 Euros with your bachelor’s or master’s dissertation? And: are you the one to tell Shell all about sustainability? Then why don’t you compete for the Shell Bachelor or Master Award 2005.

Together with TU Delft, Royal Dutch Shell is to organize the 2005 Shell Bachelor Master Award. This is an award for bachelor and master students whose thesis is concerned with sustainable development and energy. The Social Investment Manager of Royal Dutch Shell, André Smit, says "With the Shell Bachelor Master Award, we hope to encourage students to find out more about the sustainability theme. We do this by giving them the opportunity to express their views to senior staff members of Shell and to win a substantial amount of money".

Students who think they may be eligible for the award have until 31 December 2005 to enrol. The final will take place on Thursday, 16 February 2006. At this meeting, each of the six finalists will present an ''elevator pitch'', which means that they have a mere two minutes to convince the jury that they should win the award. The prizes are 1,000 euros for the bachelor winner and 2,500 euros for the master winner. The jury members are Rein Willems, President of Royal Dutch Shell, Hans van Luijk, President of Delft University of Technology and Wubbo Ockels, full professor of Aerospace for Sustainable Engineering & Technology at TU Delft.
