UfD-E.ON Teamwork Prize for TU Delft iGEM team 2010
23 June 2011 by M&C TNW/BTLast week the TU Delft iGEM 2010 team has been awarded the UfD E.ON Teamwork Prize 2011 for their participation in the International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition in Boston in November 2010. Among 124 teams the TU Delft iGEM team reached a place in the final (best 6 teams) with their oil degrading bacteria, the ‘Alkanivore’. Aditionally they won the award for the best presentation and received a gold medal for the high quality of their work .
High level
The jury assessed the work of the Delft University iGEM 2010 team as very innovative and praised the dedication of the team that led the project to a very high level. Also the team managed to generate a lot of media attention with their project. The UfD E.ON teamwork price covers a cash amount of € 10,000, - as well as a certificate and a statuette that symbolizes teamwork.
Performance
The UfD-E.ON teamwork prize is awarded annually to a group of people within the university community, which in the past year has achieved a special and outstanding performance as a team.
